THANKSGIVING TO VALENTINES!

Jordan River Temple, while in Utah for Thanksgiving with SpilkersWhen we went down to Utah to have Thanksgiving with the Spilkers (Teresa’s clan), we told them all “We’ll see you in the spring!” because the road in Wyoming are uncertain in the winter.

While down there we visited the beautiful Jordan River temple. You have to think of these things when you live up in Wyoming (making the most use of your trip, when you are headed down to the “big city”).

So we had Christmas in Rawlins, USA and it was simple and sweet.

Fortunately, we were able to meet up with the Favero clan at the 7F Ranch in Robertson, WY just before New Year’s.

For Christmas, Ben Favero gave Jeff a ring – a replica of the ring from The Lord of The Rings. So Teresa posted something on Ben’s Facebook about its affect on Jeff.

She wrote the following with the attached pictures:

Ben, I'm sure Jeffrey would like to thank you for the Ring you gave him for Christmas...however, he couldn't take his eyes off it, kept calling it his "Precious", said you gave it to him for his "birthday" - and now he has gone missing!

The only special event in January was when Kaytie & Christian brought their chubby little Noah to visit while passing through on I-80.

We were able to get down to Utah sooner than expected because Joe Favero, my (Jeff’s) brother, decided to share our anniversary by getting sealed (married) on Valentine’s Day in the Brigham City Temple to his bride – Brienna.

When Joe broke the news, he told me something like: “I didn’t ask your permission to be born the day before your 10th birthday, so I’m not going to ask your permission to be married on your 11th anniversary!”

The sun came out and got rid of all the ice on the roads, and our drives were safe and quick.

Jan–October 2013 (last of the catching up)

WINTER IN WYOMING

Been a good year so far. In January through March we were still enjoying winter in Wyoming (Rock Springs). Here are two fascinating pictures to explain this time.

We sent these to each other on Valentine’s Day (our 11th anniversary!). Below is a picture that Teresa created for me that day. See the picture from our wedding day next to it that inspired her artwork.

SUMMER ADVENTURES

In April we flew to Los Angeles for a few fun days in the sun. We drove up to Bakersfield to see Grandma Favero and the Nichols cousins. We were in the audience for America’s Got Talent auditions in Hollywood. Then we went to Disneyland!

MOVED TO RAWLINS

In June, we moved to Rawlins for Jeff to work at Davidson’s other chiropractic clinic in Wyoming. It has a population of 9,000 and has a nice home-town feel. They have been very welcoming so far, and we are happy here. Teresa is working at a bank (Bank of the West) just a couple minutes from home.

Uhaul - order 20' truck but 10 minutes before we picked it up found out it wasn't there yet, so they offered 14' truck and a trailer (ended up fitting it all in the truck & returning the trailer!)self portrait - think I was still enamoured with my beard

Tee screamed as we approached our house after church. Turns out there was a deer in the grass of the clinic next door!

In July, Jeff was able to hike at the nearby Medicine Bow National Forest…and got lost! (Teresa will never let me go hiking alone again!).

The beginning of my epic hike to Medicine Bow Peak in Southern Wyoming. I ended up getting lost and walking for miles before I found someone who could drive me back to my car! Thankfully, I got there just before sundown.Been a long time since I got this close to just putting my hands to my head and balling my eyes out. It was a daunting thought to hike farther, but I knew I had to...I was deep into the rocky terrain and hoped going forward would have less of it than backMedicine Bow Peak - took me over 2.5 hours to get there, and I had a limp at this point. (Teresa said she will never let me go hiking alone again!)Gorgeous area. This stream fed a small, secluded lake.Nice view! After running down the mountain to a man and 3 teenagers (heard their voices from afar & hoped they could help). Said I had reached "Heart Lake" but I think it was really Little Long Lake. So I hiked a few miles west until I reached a dirt road

FALL IS HERE!

Saw this leaf on our outside rug when I stepped out to go to work (9/5/2013, on Teresa’s birthday!). I thought, "Well, fall is officially here!"

We’ve been getting involved in the community of Rawlins, making it our home. Here is a picture of us dressed up for the 20's theme at the Rawlins "Pride & Passion Ball".

My good friends from Sri Lanka! Very fortunate to have them visit this day at the end of September while I was in Utah. They were all here for Brother Royce's family (he is behind my right shoulder). His daughter (not pictured) was getting married, and they were sending his son on a mission!

The weekend of our first big snow storm of the year (Oct 4th). Gust of wind & I spun off the interstate (on the way to cover for the clinic in Rock Springs). I had to get towed back on to the freeway, but car was working fine - no big damage!

We went to the Ranch with Ben and Katie Spilker & Josh and Whitney Gneiting in the middle of October. Here are children at the schoolhouse (7F Ranch in Robertson, WY). And below is Ben pushing Teresa on the rope swing!
